History of the Golf Course

History of Goderich Sunset Golf Club

Sunset Golf Club was first opened in 1972 by Paul and Shirley Baechler and quickly became known as "The Friendly 18".  This nickname came not only from the course layout, which is both fair and challenging, but from the staff of the course who always treated guests like family.  This tradition has continued on with the Gravett family, purchased the golf course in March 2003, and with the addition of the Baby Boomer course the nickname has evolved into "The Friendly 27".

The addition of the Baby Boomer Golf Academy and practice facility in 2006 was a game changer for golf.  It allows both young and old to appreciate the beauty behind golf.
