COVID-19: Our first priority is the health and safety of our team members, golfers, guests and our communities through these challenging times. We acknowledge that every golfer will make their own decision as to whether it is in their best interest to golf during these times or not.

MUST WEAR A MASK in Goderich when entering a commercial building you must wear a MASK.  This means when you come in to pay for golf, range, use the washroom you must wear a mask.  You do not need to wear a mask while golfing.***

However, should you choose to join us, we will welcome you and require your full cooperation with regards to the measures that have been implemented for everyone’s safety.

If you have underlying medical conditions, it is recommended that you not visit our facility.  Anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19 which primarily displays as a persistent cough, will not be permitted on the course. So, if you don’t feel well, please stay home, and, when in doubt, get tested. If you have traveled outside of Canada, you are not permitted at our facility until you have self-isolated for a minimum of 14 days.  If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to our facility. Call you doctor, local public health. If you live in a household with someone who has COVID-19 or is showing symptoms of COVID- 19, please do not come to our facility.

Making a Tee Time

  • All players must  have a confirmed tee time before entering the property
    • Tee times can be booked online at https://sunsetgolfclub.com/ Please note, we are experiencing HIGH Demand of calls, so we ask that you do not leave a TEE TIME request on the phone or by email.
    • Tee times may be booked 7 days in advance
    • Tee times will be scheduled at a 10-minute interval
    • Absolutely no back nine starts permitted; holes are to be played in order.
  • Golfers without a pre-scheduled tee time are not permitted; they must arrange a reservation prior to arriving at the course. Book online or by phone. Please list ALL players’ names in your group as we have to have a record of who has played each day.

Services at the Club

  • The ProShop Retail Store is CLOSED for retail purchases we are only able to do CURBSIDE PICKUP with the current Stay at Home order. Please be aware there is still a three person limit inside the Proshop at one time.
    • Here are the changes we have made to ensure your safety:
    • We ask that you use the hand sanitizer located at the front door when entering the Proshop.
    • Halfway House is open starting in MAY during the day for you to pickup food before your round, after nine or on your way home.  We have a wide selection of grab and go food to keep you fed.  Don’t forget about all our awesome beverages we have as well.  Cooler bags will be allowed to borrow to keep your drinks cool.  They are sanitized after every use.
  • PRIOR TO MAY: we will have snacks and beverages available in the PROSHOP.
  • Patio is  CLOSED: we ask that you leave immediately following your round. We know how difficult this may be for you as we would love for you to stay and chat but at this time you must return home.
  • DRIVING RANGE: is OPEN you can come into the Proshop to pick up your bucket of balls: small, medium or large.  You will need to sign a sheet with your name and phone number.
  • The Putting Green: only 4 people on the putting green at one time.  You must use your own golf balls when chipping and putting.

Arrival Process at the Club for Golfers with Tee Times

  • Adhere to physical distancing practices at all times (minimum of two club lengths).
  • Members will be allowed access to the Club 15 minutes or less prior to their scheduled tee times.
  • Please bring your own sanitizer and use it each and every time you touch a foreign surface (Pro Shop door, washroom door, golf cart).
  • The putting green will be accessible for golfers with a max of 4 golfer son it at one time.
    • You must use your own golf balls when using the putting green.
  • Power Cart UPDATE: The Ontario Government now requires all riders of power carts that DO NOT reside in the same household to WEAR A MASK.
  • Pull carts will be available and will be sanitized before and after each use.
  • There will be no access to the Clubhouse at this time.
  • On-course washrooms will not be available at this time.
  • For March and April we are only having the Pro Shop Wheelchair accessible one will be.  Please be mindful of this before you arrive.

On Course

  • Adhere to physical distancing practices at all times (minimum of 6’).
  • Tees and pencils will not be provided. Unless specifically asked for.
  • There will not be any bunker rakes or ball washers on the course.
  • Divot mix will not be provided. You will be required to replace your own divots.
  • Play a preferred lie in the bunkers.
  • Flagsticks are not to be touched. Each pin has a metal protector that is placed just below the grass so that your ball is easy to grab without touching the flag.  .

General Procedures

  • Adhere to physical distancing practices at all times (minimum of 6’).
  • You must not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to your tee time.
  • If you do not abide by the Club’s COVID-19 protocols, you will be required to leave immediately. It is important for everyone to follow these protocols so the Club can keep the course open for all golfers to enjoy.
  • Additionally, infractions will be subject to immediate review and possible suspension of privileges


  • Club Staff will adhere to physical distancing practices at all times (minimum of 6’).
  • Staff will not remove or load clubs or equipment from or into Member vehicles or onto carts.
  • All staff will also complete a COVID-19 health screening declaration before arrival at the Club.
  • Proper hand hygiene and use of PPE, as appropriate, will be required to ensure that safe practices are followed.
